Community Resources:  Presentations and Training Available
The Elkhart County Suicide Prevention Coalition is available for community presentations.  Members have presented suicide and suicide prevention information to school groups, service groups, agencies and workplaces.
Youth Suicide Postvention Training.
We also have a Question, Persuade and Refer (QPR) trainer who is available for “gatekeeper” training.  QPR, three simple steps that anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide.  People trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade and refer someone to help.
QPR can be learned in our 1-2 hour course.  A Gatekeeper is someone in a position to recognize a crisis and the warning signs that someone may be contemplating suicide.  Gatekeepers include parents, friends, neighbors, teachers, pastors, coworkers and other concerned individuals.
